a new car

i guess we're adults now. we have made our first big purchase--we've never bought cars (except from our families) and we've never owned a house, so buying a van was quite the step. now, we have a car payment and it feels weird to owe money to someone. it took weeks of research, but we are loving this van. the roominess (we can have the stroller and groceries in the trunk! we can fit more than just the four of us!) is lovely, the cd player is nice, but hands down the best part is the air conditioner. come summertime we won't be drenched from sitting in the car in 110-degree heat. i won't have to strip the babies down to their diapers before going anywhere lest they overheat.

if it had been possible to fit three huge car seats in the back seat of my little '93 honda accord, we would never have worried about buying a van, but we couldn't. and now i'm sorta glad.
