fail.

what a lovely play dough recipe! (i used the cooked flour recipe.) i like the consistency better than the store-bought stuff and i made it in less than five minutes.

and ransom decided he hated it in less than five seconds.

of course, he had to taste it. no problem, i thought, as he put a piece of it in his mouth, this stuff is just salt and flour and water.

he spent the next 20 minutes crying and spitting furiously. apparently it tastes just terrible. at last, a big cup of strong cherry juice later, he stopped spitting and i tried again to get him interested. and i tried the rest of the day, too, but he wouldn't come any where near my beloved play dough.

i finally plunked him in calvin's booster seat at the table, gave him an egg carton and some dried beans, and managed to get the dishes done and granola made while he was busy filling and emptying the carton. 

success.
