the evolution of a nap after a day of hard playing in greenville.
there's not much sweeter to a parent, i think, than gazing on your sleeping child--beautiful, vulnerable, serene. josh and i tiptoe in to look at the babies each night, marveling at their sweetness.
once, we gave into the yearning to cuddle again and took a sleeping ransom to our bed, hoping he would sleep snuggled up between us for the night. needless to say, after half an hour of flopping and fidgeting (ending with the apparently most comfortable position squarely on my head), we took a bleary-eyed little boy back to his crib.
i think he was relieved. and we, laughing, went to bed just us.
but i love sleeping pictures-- they make me catch my breath a moment.
