four years.

four years ago i married the man of better-than-my-dreams.

i thought about writing our story, but ours is the love of fairy tales and story books, and can't be contained in a blog post.

then i thought i might write about all the things i love most in my husband, like his selflessness, his love for Truth. but those things that are biggest, dearest, and most known are hardest to reduce to words.

in the end, i can only say: i have led a charmed life and my marriage is certainly no exception. i had my own ideas of the person i would marry, and thankfully, those plans did not come to be. i imagine God smiled at my plans, thought, silly child, and then handed me something much, much better--as he has done all my life.

if you asked josh what one word describes marriage, i know what he would say. death.

as we have bound our lives, our fates, together, we have changed. we have died every day--painfully. we have given up ourselves. and the new life that comes is better and far bigger than our small, tawdry, self-serving selves.

how like the gospel.

i look forward to each day with this man. he is the best i have ever known.

i love you, josh.
